Some Facial Hair Removal Tips

Millions of men around the world start their day by shaving their faces.  With so many men shaving day in and day out for the majority of their life, it surprising how many men don’t know very much about facial hair removal.  There are some things you can do to make shaving go much easier and get a closer shave.  Today I’ll be giving you some facial hair removal tips. More specifically, I’ll be talking about how to get the best shave with an electric razor.

Electric razors are convenient and easy to use and many men prefer them over a traditional safety razor.  One problem and complaint that many men have with electric razors is that the electric razor doesn’t seem to get as close of a shave as the blade does. Follow these few simple tips and you will be much more satisfied with the results from your electric razor.

First, you want to make sure that your face is clean and free from dirt or oil so give it a thorough scrubbing before you begin to shave.  Next you should apply a pre shave lotion that is specially formulated for use with electric razors. Unlike shaving cream or shaving gel that is designed to act as a lubricant and soften the whiskers to prepare them for shaving, pre shave electric liquid is designed to stiffen the whiskers and make them stand straight up.

After you have applied the electric pre shave liquid,  pat your face dry.  A dry face is easier to shave than a wet face with an electric razor.  Next, it’s time to shave.  You will get the best results be if you have clean, sharp cutting elements in your electric razor.  Depending upon your razor and your particular beard type, these blades may need to be replaced about once a month.  When you begin to shave, it’s generally best to shave against the direction that the hair is growing.  If you are using an electric razor with a foil element, shave in straight movements like you would if you were shaving with a blade.  If you are using an electric razor that has three small disk elements, shave in small circular motions.

If you are new to shaving with an electric razor, it may take up to a month before your face has acclimated to being shaved with an electric razor.  You may not get good results right off the bat and you may have what are called razor bumps after shaving with an electric razor.  Don’t give up hope on the electric razor as this problem generally goes away after your face has become use to the electric razor.
