Hair implants were originally known as hair plugs back in the day when they were first utilized in the 1950′s. They were called plugs because they really looked like they had been plugged into the scalp just like the hair on a dolls head. Most people thought that the hair transplants at that time looked worse than the bald spot did. Because of this hair implants got a real bad name and were really now used much until about 1990.
By this time the techniques had been improved so much that the results really looked great. When a person had the hair transplantation procedure most people could not tell the hairs were implants instead of natural occuring hair. This was great because this method gave a very nice alternative to drugs and other treatments that were available at the time.
The only problem was that the standard method left a nasty scar at the back of the head where part of the scalp was removed to be used as a donor area. Usually this scar was covered up but it was still possible to be seen if someone moved the hair or if a hat was worn.
This drawback was finally solved about 10 years ago when the Follicular Unit Extraction method was utilized for hair transplantation. With this method there was no longer any problems with a scar because the hair follicles were removed directly from the scalp individually. They are then implanted in the same way the standard hair implants were.
The surgeon will insert the follicle units in such a way that they grow in the direction of the hairs surrounding the bald spot. This is great because it makes them very hard to spot. Also, the hair implants for men and hair implants for women are from the patient’s own body so the color and texture of the implants match perfectly. The new hair implants really do give a very nice result.
If you are looking for a great way to get your hair back take a look at hair implants. You will be happy you did because they really do look natural and they will continue to grow for years to come.

i used minoxidil and topical copper peptide on my hair loss and male patterned baldness. it seems effective.
Thank you for the comment Kimboy,
I will look into copper peptides and do a post on their use. My readers will be interested in that I am sure. It may be another tool in our hair loss help tool kit.
